Slab rates (Rs per unit) — editable defaults

Defaults are indicative base-tariff slab rates for a non-protected residential consumer. Protected consumers (under 200 units for six consecutive months) pay lower slab rates, and quarterly tariff adjustments also apply. GST is calculated at 18% on the energy + FPA amount; the standard Rs 35 TV fee is included.

Crossing into the next slab only raises the price of the units inside that slab in this calculator’s progressive model — but note that in Pakistan, consistently using over 200 units can move you to the higher “non-protected” tariff for the following months, which is when bills jump sharply.

How your Pakistan electricity bill is built

Your bill is not simply units × one rate. NEPRA’s tariff charges different rates per slab of consumption, then adds a monthly Fuel Price Adjustment (the difference between forecast and actual generation cost), fixed charges, GST at 18%, and small government fees. Two households using the same units can pay differently if one qualifies as a “protected” consumer. The fastest way to cut a bill in Pakistan is usually to stay under the 200- and 300-unit slab boundaries — one extra AC hour a day can be the difference.

Why did my bill jump even though I used the same units?

Usually one of three reasons: the monthly Fuel Price Adjustment rose, a quarterly tariff adjustment took effect, or you crossed 200 units for six consecutive months and lost “protected” status, so all your units are now billed at the higher non-protected slabs.

How can I check my actual bill amount?

Every DISCO offers online bill checking by 14-digit reference number (LESCO, IESCO, FESCO, MEPCO, GEPCO, HESCO, SEPCO, QESCO, PESCO, TESCO and K-Electric). This calculator is for estimating and planning — your official bill is the amount to pay.
